Winter road salt does not care how old the car is. Rust starts where you cannot see it: inside the sills, on the chassis rails, in the folds of metal under the wheel arches. By the time it shows on the outside, the repair is bodywork, not prevention.
Protection starts on the lift with an inspection. We wash and dry the underside, and remove the rust with a special laser. Then we apply several layers of products that protect the underbody.
The best time is autumn, before the first salt, or right after buying a used car, when you want to see what is underneath anyway.
Questions about this service
How often should it be redone?
It depends on the product and on how much the car drives in winter. Usually the underside is checked once a year and touched up where the layer has worn.
How do you remove rust?
With a special laser. Then we apply several layers of protective products to the underbody.
